GENERAL INFORMATION

The Board of Directors of the American Helicopter Society meet twice a year; the first time in April, May or June at the Forum (with both outgoing and incoming Board members) and the second in October in conjunction with the AUSA Convention in Washington, D.C.  The Board may also elect to hold a winter meeting, in conjunction with the HAI Convention.  Special meetings of the board may be called at any time in accordance with the by-laws.

Questions that come before the Board are decided upon by a majority of votes cast, unless otherwise provided.  There are 24 voting members on the Board:

•  Technical Director (1)
•  Regional Vice Presidents (7)
•  Vice Presidents for International Affairs (3)
•  Directors-at-Large (8)
•  International Membership Chairman (1)
•  Washington, D.C. Vice President (1)

At least one-half of the voting members of the Board must be present at a meeting of the Board to constitute a quorum.  If less than a quorum is present, the majority of those present may adjourn the meeting.

The AHS National Headquarters will notify Board members of the dates, times, and locations of Board meetings no later than one month prior to the date of the meeting.  At that time, all members making regular presentations, or having new business should prepare written reports and submit these reports to the Society to arrive no later than two weeks prior to the date of the meeting.  AHS Headquarters will then prepare the final agenda along with the written reports (the "Board Book,") and send it to Board members in advance of the meeting. To be considered at Board Meetings all items of NEW BUSINESS should be contained in the Board Book in the form of a written report.
