The Southeast Region and the Hampton Roads Chapter of AHS International are sponsoring a conference on Helicopter Military Operations Technology, October 26–27, 2016. “Vertical Lift Technology: Enabling the Future Soldier Today” is the theme. The conference will consist of 1½ days of unclassified, unrestricted presentations held at the Newport News Marriott at City Center, Newport News, Virginia USA. HELMOT XVII will consider the full spectrum of global operations, and look at Warfighter capabilities needed to keep our edge.
Topics will focus on how the acquisition of vertical lift technology impacts our current operational environment around the world, and the flexibility of future planning for the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security manned rotorcraft and unmanned aerial systems. The sessions will include a review of how we will transition from our current force to next generation vertical lift platforms.
Theme-related military and industry exhibits of new hardware and equipment will be displayed.

The technical sessions will be all day October 26 and a half day on October 27. [Note: the US Army plans to hold a classified day of briefings on October 25 at nearby Ft. Eustis that might be relevent to some HELMOT attendees. Details will be posted when available.]

Cancellations must be in writing. There will be a $25 cancellation fee on all credit card payments. No cancellation refunds after October 19, 2016.
Exhibit space is available for industry, military, and organizations. Each exhibit space is located along the conference hallway adjacent to the main meeting room. Additional information is provided on the registration website.
Meals and Refreshments
Breakfast and refreshment breaks are included in the registration for general and student attendees, but are “pay as you go” for DOD government employee attendees. All attendees are encouraged to select their favorite local restaurant for lunch in downtown Newport News.
