Huntsville, Alabama

Call for Papers

The Redstone Chapter and the Product Support Committee of the American Helicopter Society International will be sponsoring a Technical Specialists’ Meeting on Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) on 12-13 Feb 2008 in Huntsville, Alabama. The Specialists’ Meeting will present the current technological state and path forward for the underlying technologies behind CBM and their application to the accrual of maintenance credits.

Abstracts are to be submitted to the web site http://www.miracd.com/AHS2008CBM after 16 July but no later than 15 Aug 2007. It is strongly encouraged that abstracts be submitted in a .pdf format and not be any larger than 2MB. They should be approximately 1,000 words, present the status of the background data to be used, summarize figures and illustrations to be used (with samples), and include a summary of important conclusions. ONLY abstracts using the AHS Forum 63 published guidelines will be accepted for committee review.  Finished, or draft version, papers will not be accepted. Abstracts will be accepted in a variety of technical disciplines related to military and commercial aircraft Condition Based Maintenance. Submittal of an abstract is interpreted as a professional commitment to prepare a final paper, attend the CBM Specialists’ Meeting and make a presentation based on that final paper. If an author finds that he or she will be unable to make the presentation, then it is incumbent upon him or her to find a substitute presenter. Abstract acceptance will be based in part on the submitter's previous history in following through with their previous commitments. One author may present no more than two papers.

Other Important Dates in the Process:

Paper selection will be completed by 12 Sep 2007. Final versions of all papers must be submitted to the Mira web site, http://www.miracd.com/AHS2008CBM, by 11 Jan 2008.

It is preferred that papers be submitted in electronic format. Allowable file formats are those which are compatible with Microsoft Word 2000 ("DOC" files) or Adobe Acrobat 4.0 ("PDF" files). Papers received after 11 Jan 2008 will not be included in the CD-ROM version of the Workshop proceedings.

The CBM Specialists’ Meeting is open to an international audience. As such, it is the policy of the AHS that all papers submitted for inclusion in the Proceedings and all presentations made at the Workshop be completely unrestricted. That is, they are not allowed to contain any proprietary, sensitive, classified, or otherwise-controlled information. Authors should make note of this policy when submitting abstracts. It is the author's responsibility to obtain appropriate clearance of his/her abstract, paper, and presentation in time to meet all deadlines.
