Penn State Poster Session for MAV Student ChallengeAHS International — The Vertical Flight Society — invites student teams to participate in the 6th Annual Micro Air Vehicle (MAV) Student Challenge. This electric-powered vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) MAV competition seeks to encourage interest in autonomous/unmanned aircraft technology as well as small air vehicle design and fabrication. Teams may choose to design either a remotely-controlled system or a fully-autonomous system.

Students: check out the MAV competition rules and see if your team can be the first to ever accomplish these incredibly challenging tasks! You'll be competing head-to-head for awards totaling $5,000 USD.

The 6th Annual Micro Air Vehicle Student Challenge will be held in conjunction with the 74th Annual Forum and Technology Display at the Phoenix Convention Center, Phoenix, Arizona on Monday afternoon, May 14, 2018 (time and location subject to change).

The competition is conducted by Society's Unmanned VTOL Aircraft & Rotorcraft Committee. The committee hopes that the annual MAV Student Challenges will lead to advances in this area and help to develop increased expertise by students and universities.
