Stacy Sidle

University of Maryland College Park

Stacy is a doctoral candidate in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Maryland in College Park. She is conducting research on modeling helicopter dynamics and vibrations in the Alfred Gessow Rotorcraft Center under Professor Inderjit Chopra. Prior to coming to Maryland, she received a bachelor's degree in physics from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, and a master's in physics from the University of Texas at Austin. She then taught math for 6 years at a public high school in an Austin suburb. While at Maryland, Stacy has been involved in the Federal City chapter of AHS - The Vertical Flight Society, has previously received a Vertical Flight Foundation scholarship from the Vertical Flight Society and the Sikorsky Fellowship from Lockheed Martin, and served as the team leader for the UMD graduate student design team, which won first prize for the AirEZ unmanned package delivery vehicle concept. She had also spent two months as a summer intern in the dynamics group at Sikorsky Aircraft.
