Joseph Kiley Heimerl

Joseph Heimerl is a first-year MS graduate student in Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University, having graduated with a BS in May 2022. He has been advised by Dr. Moble Benedict since his first undergraduate semester at Texas A&M. He has contributed to three papers focusing on experimental research on cycloidal rotors, and was a recipient of the undergraduate-level Michael Rutkowski VFF scholarship. Joseph also worked at NASA as a 2022 summer intern in the Ames Research Center Rotorcraft Aeromechanics Branch. During this experience, he developed a conceptual design for a human-carrying Mars helicopter and assisted in acoustics experiments in the 40-by-80-Foot Wind Tunnel. He is also an officer of Texas A&M's chapter of Sigma Gamma Tau (SGT), the national Aerospace Engineering honors society.
