Ruthvik Chandrasekaran
Georgia Institute of Technology
Ruthvik Chandrasekaran is a Ph.D. candidate in the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. He became interested in rotorcraft during his undergraduate coursework on structural dynamics and aeroelasticity. He received his Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, where he worked at the Helicopter Lab on estimating the cross-sectional properties of composite rotor blades with Dr. Comandur Venkatesan. His current work at Georgia Tech is on Variable Speed Rotors under the advisement of Dr. Dewey Hodges. His research aims to provide a framework to analyze the resonance characteristics of variable speed rotors and to tackle the vibration issues that arise due to change in rotor speed. He has also researched on improving rotorcraft safety with the specific aim of mitigating wire strike accidents.
