Nathan O'Brien

Nathan O'Brien is a second year PhD student at the University of Maryland under Dr. Anubhav Datta. His research is focused on the study and mitigation of whirl flutter through experimental analysis of the Maryland Tiltrotor Rig. Nathan graduated from Penn State University in 2019 with a B.S in Aerospace Engineering; while gaining internship experience at Sikorsky Aircraft. After graduating he worked as a structural test engineer for Lockheed Martin. Once Nathan completes his PhD he hope's to be an integral part of advancing VTOL's life saving capabilities, as well as improving the industry's impact on the environment. Nathan lives in Adelphi MD and likes to spend his free time hiking, fishing, playing video games, and learning about history
