Shivani Patel

Shivani Patel is a Human Factors PhD Candidate at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Under the advisement of Dr. Alex Chaparro, her dissertation is focussed on researching intuitive inceptor control layouts for piloting eVTOLs aircrafts with Simplified Vehicle Operations (SVO). She has also obtained her Master’s (2021) and Bachelor’s (2019) in Human Factors from Embry-Riddle. Outside of grad school, Shivani is currently a Spring 2023 Human Factors Intern for NASA Ames Research Center, CA working on Urban Air Mobility (UAM) research. She will be continuing on into the NASA Pathways Program this summer.
