Apurva Anand

Apurva Anand is a second-year PhD candidate at Alfred Gessow Rotorcraft Center, University of Maryland College Park. He is a citizen of Nepal and holds a master's degree in aerospace engineering from Indian Institute of Science. He also worked at Airbus as a Flight Dynamics and Aircraft Performance Engineer for two years before joining UMD as a PhD student. Currently, Apurva is a graduate research assistant in Dr James Baeder's research group. His research focuses on the development and implementation of machine learning frameworks and surrogate models for rotorcraft aerodynamic design applications. Outside work, Apurva likes to play soccer, cricket, and squash and enjoys hiking as well.
