Ritwik Shankar is a senior undergraduate student pursuing his B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Control Theory at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. He is a researcher at the Helicopter Lab under the guidance of Dr Abhishek, where he is working on autonomous landing of UAVs on a stochastically moving platform using Visual markers. His research focuses on using Computer Vision and Machine learning and combining it with control techniques for optimal trajectory generation of UAVs and robots. He received the IndiaAI fellowship for his work on autonomous landing. He will be joining Prof. Ames' research group at Caltech this summer to explore optimal control techniques. He was the leader of the Aeromodelling Club and is the Captain of the Football team at IIT Kanpur. His career goal is to pursue a doctorate to explore control theory and apply it to UAVs and robotics.
