Taemin Jeong

Seoul National University

Taemin Jeong is a first-year Ph.D. student in Aerospace Engineering at Seoul National University (SNU) in Seoul, South Korea, where he previously earned his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and Earth and Environmental Sciences and his M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering. His research interests center around electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft design, emphasizing their safe and harmonious integration into urban environments. His study specifically addresses the Vortex Ring State (VRS) phenomenon in eVTOL aircraft by developing simplified analytical models and planning further investigations through high-fidelity numerical simulations. In fall 2023, Taemin participated in an international internship (I²P) at NASA's Ames Research Center in the Rotorcraft Aeromechanics Branch. There, he contributed to the conceptual design of a NASA six-tiltrotor reference vehicle utilizing NDARC software, with results presented at the AIAA Aviation conference. Additionally, Taemin has demonstrated leadership as the president of STEM, the engineering honor society at SNU, and continues to serve as Director of Social Media for the Vertical Flight Society (VFS) Student Council.
