University of Texas at Austin
Daniel Yu is a third year PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin. Daniel earned his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, after which he worked for a year as a flight dynamics engineer at TRU Simulation & Training (Textron). He later returned to UIUC to earn his M.S. in Aerospace Engineering. Daniel worked with Professor Phillip J Ansell researching distributed electric propulsion for eVTOL applications and rotary wing design for reduced tip vortex characteristics. At UT Austin, Daniel is currently working with Professor Jayant Sirohi at the UT Aeroelasticity Research group. His current research focus is performing wake measurements on single and coaxial, counter-rotating rotors with dynamic inputs. The goal of this project is to experimentally extract dynamic inflow model parameters.
