For the second year in a row, the Comparative Aircraft Flight Efficiency Foundation (CAFE) held its annual Electric Aircraft Symposium (EAS) at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Alumni Center on the weekend prior to the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture fly-in and convention.
This, the 12th Annual EAS, was held July 21–22, 2018, and attracted 18 international speakers from a wide range of disciplines who provided an update on the opportunities and challenges facing electric-powered conventional take-off and landing (eCTOL) and eVTOL aircraft. Many VFS members presented at the event, including Board Member Ken Swartz, President, Aeromedia Communications, who made a presentation on The Electric VTOL Revolution (12 MB pdf).
This year, the Vertical Flight Society partnered with the CAFE Foundation to video record the presentations at EAS2018 with the goal of sharing these electric aviation insights online with members, supporters and sponsors. Links to these videos can be found on the VFS YouTube page. In addition:
