Our website and other processes may not always be clear, so we've put together some responses to the questions we most often receive. We'll also be adding some tips and tricks for getting the most out of your membership and our website.

Vertical Flight Library and Store FAQs


What is the Vertical Flight Library and Store, and how does it help me?
The Vertical Flight Library and Store includes downloadable papers from nearly all Forum Proceedings from 1943 to today, as well as papers from more than 100 Technical Meetings and 65 years of Vertiflite magazine! The Vertical Flight Library and Store also includes CD-ROMs and USB drives, books and Vertical Flight Society clothes, novelties and other merchandise. Add to your technical library or show your enthusiasm for vertical flight!

 

I'm a VFS member. How can I access my free Paper of the Month, free Vertiflites and member discounts on the Vertical Flight Library and Store?
To access free and discounted member pricing, identify yourself as a VFS member in good standing. The two main ways to do this are:

Directly at the Vertical Flight Library and Store

1. While browsing a paper, you should see a link to "Join or log in to receive the member price of $--!" This link is located just above the "Add to Cart" button.



2. Clicking the link will invoke a login window. Please enter your VFS member credentials. Note that this is not your Vertical Flight Library and Store account! This is for your VFS member account only. The credentials for this account are different than those of your Vertical Flight Library and Store account (if you have one).



3. Once your active membership login has been processed, the screen will refresh and the VFS member price will now be available to you.

Via My VFS

1. Log onto My VFS with your VFS membership credentials.



2. Once logged in, towards the lower right you will see a link for the Vertical Flight Library and Store. Click this link. It will take you to the Vertical Flight Library and Store.



3. The VFS member price will now be available to you.

 

I already logged in. Why am I being asked to log in again?
Most members need two separate accounts to order from the Vertical Flight Library and Store—your active VFS membership account and a separate account with the Vertical Flight Library and Store. This separate account uses different credentials than your VFS membership account. You cannot use the credentials from one account to log in to the other one.

To order from the store, first log in as a VFS member (see details in the second FAQ, above). Next, log into your Vertical Flight Library and Store account. Please note that your Vertical Flight Library and Store login is different than your VFS member login!

Once you have logged in to your Vertical Flight Library and Store account, click through the order process until you reach the "Complete Order" button.



In case you log in to your Vertical Flight Library and Store account before logging in as a VFS member, a member login link is provided on the "My Account" page. Remember, your Vertical Flight Library and Store credentials are different from your VFS member credentials.



Note that if you add an item to your cart before activating the member price, you will need to remove the regularly-priced item from your cart, and add it again once member pricing has been activated.

 

I changed my password, but it still isn't working. Why not?
You may have changed the password to your VFS member account, instead of your Vertical Flight Library and Store account. These are two separate accounts. You need your VFS member account to access member discounts. You need the Vertical Flight Library and Store account to process orders and download papers. Changing the password for one account will not impact the other one.

You will not be able to change your Vertical Flight Library and Store account password unless you have previously selected a security question and answer. Attempting to change your Vertical Flight Library and Store account password without a security question will result in an error.

 

How do I create a security question for my Vertical Flight Library and Store account?
Choosing a security question and providing an answer lets you reset the password for your Vertical Flight Library and Store account. To do this, first log in to your Vertical Flight Library and Store account. NOTE: this is not the same as your VFS member account. The credentials you use for this account will be different than your VFS member credentials.

Once you have logged in, select "Security Settings" from the menu at left. Under "Select or change your security question," select a question and provide whatever answer you like. Click "Set security question" to finish. If you ever need to reset your password, you will be prompted to provide the answer to the question you chose.
