Chinook in AfghanistanThe Southeast US Region and the Hampton Roads Chapter of AHS International are sponsoring a conference on Helicopter Military Operations Technology, October 26–27, 2016. Vertical Lift Technology: Enabling the Future Soldier Today is the theme. The conference will consist of 1½ days of unclassified, unrestricted presentations held at the Newport News Marriott at City Center, Newport News, Virginia USA. HELMOT XVII will consider the full spectrum of global operations, and look at Warfighter capabilities needed to keep our edge.

Topics will focus on how the acquisition of vertical lift technology impacts our current operational environment around the world, and the flexibility of future planning for the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security manned rotorcraft and unmanned aerial systems. The sessions will include a review of how the military will transition from its current force to next generation vertical lift platforms. Theme-related military and industry exhibits of new hardware and equipment will be displayed.
