Photographing Helicopter Interiors

In the May-June 2012 issue of Vertiflite, famed aviation photographer Jay Miller takes us inside helicopter interiors as you've never seen them before! Jay writes: "Photographing aircraft and helicopters entails a lot of variables. Among the many are requests to photograph specific parts and pieces, create images of major and minor subassemblies, and provide reference photos of accessories and equipment. The most popular among these, at least in terms of my specific helicopter clients, are overviews of cockpit and cabin interiors. In response, I have developed some special techniques and acquired some special lenses that give me the ability to produce images that emphasize the quality of their workmanship, underscore their subject knowledge and technical skills, and emphasize their overall capabilities as a manufacturer or completion shop."
