VFS membership is fueled by active chapter and individual interest in membership recruitment. The Society recognizes members and chapters dedicated to this growth through its various membership programs. The Vertical Flight Society runs three contests from April 1 to March 31 and consist of:
Individual Member Sponsor Contest: The VFS member who sponsors the greatest number of new members (a minimum of 20) during the contest year wins a trip to the VFS Annual Forum, including airfare and hotel accommodations (up to $1,500 USD), registration and tickets to all social functions (including for a spouse or partner). The winner also receives a plaque, presented at the VFS Annual Awards Banquet.- Chapter Member Increase Contest: First place is awarded to the VFS chapter with the greatest net growth at the end of the contest period. The winning chapter receives a plaque or certificate presented at the VFS Annual Awards Banquet and one discounted Forum registration.
- Chapter Percent Increase Contest: First place is awarded to the VFS chapter with the greatest percent increase at the end of the contest period. The winning chapter receives a plaque or certificate presented at the VFS Annual Awards Banquet and one discounted Forum registration.
Sponsor’s name must be on the membership application or online in order to qualify.
