Hauke Till Bartzsch

Leibniz University Hanover

Hauke T. Bartzsch received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Clausthal University of Technology, Germany, in 2020. During his master’s studies, he specialized in aerodynamics and conducted research on rotors at very low Reynolds numbers. Since earning his Master of Science degree in 2022, he has been working in the helicopter department of the Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology in Göttingen. He established rotor testing in the High-Pressure Wind Tunnel (HDG) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in 2024. His research focuses on improving and reducing the cost of wind tunnel experiments, particularly for rotor testing. Another major area of his work is vortex physics, which he investigates through analytical modeling and validates in various wind tunnel experiments. His results contribute to a simplified description of blade tip vortices and support efforts to reduce noise and structural loads. Among other distinctions, Hauke T. Bartzsch was awarded the Deutschlandstipendium in 2021 and, more recently, the VFF Bell Scholarship in 2025.
