2026 Complex Systems Technical Meeting
Apr 1, 2026 - Apr 1, 2026
Huntsville, AL, USA
The Development, Affordability and Qualification of Complex Systems technical meeting has now been CANCELLED.
The decision to cancel was made by the VFS Redstone Chapter host, in response to evolving government travel and conference attendance policies, as well as broader participation uncertainties that would impact the quality and effectiveness of the program. After careful consideration, it was determined that proceeding under these circumstances would not provide the experience or engagement attendees expect.
VFS recognizes the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding, and the Society remains committed to delivering high-quality technical programs and evaluating opportunities to reschedule or offer this content in an alternative format in the future. If you have already registered and paid you will receive a refund and follow-up communication. Questions please contact meetings@redstone.vtol.org
To achieve the desired capabilities of next generation vertical lift, the modern aircraft has evolved into a highly interconnected assembly of disparate systems. Acquisition strategy now values experimentation, learning through prototypes, and speed of acquisition over traditional approaches. This is currently being showcased in the FLRAA (Future Long Range Assault Aircraft) development programs, uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS), technical refresh of Enduring Fleet, and increased focus on MOSA (Modular Open Systems Approach). The complexity of the system continues to accelerate, while assessment and qualification methods race to address the scale and interactive, non-deterministic nature of the solutions. Leading experts from the government, academia, and industry will discuss the challenges of affordably developing and qualifying these complex systems. The Technical Meeting offers an excellent opportunity to present and discuss advances across the aircraft system as well as new approaches targeting the challenging subject.
