The 11th Asian Australian Rotorcraft Forum is being organized by the Vertical Flight Society's Australia Chapter and India Chapter, with the support of VFS' educational members, Melbourne University and Sydney University. It will be held at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in Chennai, India on Nov. 24-27, 2025.
ARF 11 in India
This year's ARF conference is hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology Madras at Chennai in Southern India. The Presentation Sessions will cover the five prime subdisciplines of Crewed and Uncrewed Rotorcraft: Aerodynamics, Structures & Materials, Propulsion, Systems and Design, Rotorcraft Dynamics and Control, Simulation and Modelling, Autonomy.

ARF Establishment
The Asian Australian Rotorcraft (ARF) Forum was established by the joint initiative of Arvind Sinha (Australia), Pinqi Xia (China), Prashant Pawar (India), Yasutada Tanabe (Japan) and Duck Joo Lee (South Korea). The South Korea Chapter organized a meeting in Busan in 2011 to deliberate on the way forward. This resulted in convening the Inaugural ARF-1 on February 12-15, 2012, which featured 3 Special Session Presentations, 57 Paper Presentations and 11 regional representatives.
The ARF countries commenced with Australia, China, India, Japan, and South Korea, under the support of the local Vertical Flight Society (VFS) Chapters. Singapore joined a few years later, followed by Turkey's participation.
ARF Executive Committee
Today, the ARF Executive Committee Country Representatives are Arvind Sinha (Australia), Pinqi Xia (China), Bharat Sharma (India), Yasutada Tanabe (Japan), G Kalidas (Singapore), Sung Nam Jung (South Korea) and Alper EzertaĆ (Turkey).
The ARF Conference Series
This is an annual rotational forum held in the countries that are part of ARF. The ARF Series has gone through one rotation and is now on the second round as follows: a) ARF-1 South Korea, 12-15 Feb 2012; b) ARF-2 China, 8-11 Sep 2013; c) ARF-3 Australia, 18-19 Dec 2014; d) ARF-4 India, 16-18 Nov 2015; e) ARF-5 Singapore 17-18 Nov 2016; f) ARF-6 Japan 6-7 Nov 2017; g) ARF-7 South Korea, 30 Oct-1 Nov 2018 ; h) ARF-8 Turkey, 30 Oct-2 Nov 1019; i) ARF-9 China, 6-8 Nov 2023; j) ARF-10 Australia 7-8 Nov 2024 and ARF-11 India 26-27 Nov 2025.
