Joel Rachaprolu

Joel Rachaprolu is a Ph.D. candidate in Aerospace Engineering at Penn State University, advised by Dr. Eric Greenwood. He specializes in aeroacoustically-informed control of multirotor aircraft, focusing on developing noise-conscious flight control methodologies for urban air mobility (UAM) vehicles through experimental flight testing and advanced control systems. His research involves extensive flight testing of multirotor aircraft to analyze noise generation and develop effective control strategies. His work in rotorcraft acoustics has been recognized at the Vertical Flight Society, where he received the Best Paper Award. Outside of academia, Joel enjoys watching soccer, following Formula 1, and exploring his creative side through painting and pottery.
